There is nothing more special than being invited into a client’s home to capture those blissful, yet oh-so brief first newborn moments. But this session was beyond special, as it was for one of my very best friends.
Enter the Denney family. I have known Bel (who also happens to be an incredibly talented lifestyle photographer at Belinda Denney Photography - go take a look!) and her husband Tom for somewhere between 5-20 years (I don’t like to be reminded of how old I actually am, so no need to put a definitive number on it), but we go way back. They have two STUNNING daughters and just welcomed their third little bub into their family.
They have perhaps one of the coolest baby stories I know; Bel’s family have only birthed girls for 95 years, there has not been one single boy in almost a century. When they found out they were expecting, they decided again not to find out the gender, much to my dismay! The day came when baby arrived and Bel, without giving any indication of the gender, invited myself and another friend in to meet their new family member. And it was finally revealed to us that the little one was in fact a BOY!!! Talk about all the feels! Reliving it now as I write this is giving me goosebumps and puts a smile on my face all over again. It was an amazing time of celebration, gratitude and joy which flowed right into our wonderful in-home session the following week. So much so, that little Jack didn't even sleep a wink. He was the most chilled little baby and I loved capturing him and his family, who had utterly fallen for this little dude.
Welcome Jack, you are so loved.
Side note: Jack’s two older sisters were such a joy to photograph, so much so that they will have an entire blog dedicated to them at a later date. So for now, you can enjoy Jack in all his newborn sweetness!
